I’m sure this style of carving predates silicon implants but I’m not sure.

This is the view from the bottom of the several thousand steps to the Palitana temples. This is the most sacred Jain pilgrimage site with over 800 temples on a plateau a few km above the town.
All the priests and monks have to go up to the temple daily as nobody is allowed to [...]

These figures are found in every Jain temple in great numbers, I have yet to find out what they represent but they do resemble many of the buddha images I have seen in many parts of the world.
